Tuesday night at 5:30 join us for a brief parent meeting followed by a performance from our 3rd and 4th graders. Student art will be on display, and we promise you will leave with an "gratitude attitude"!

It's American Education Week! This week, we celebrate our public school community. Festivities honor the team of people who work in our nation’s public schools - in the classroom and behind the scenes. Check out ways to celebrate: https://trst.in/KdeWHq. #pcssdproud #serveall

Today is World Kindness Day! This international observance is an invitation to help make kindness the norm in your home, school and workplace. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. What random act kindness will you do today?

Happy Diwali! Diwali is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. #pcssdproud #serveall

Today is Veterans Day. This is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11 for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country. #pcssdproud #serveall

This week we highlight the important work school psychologists do to help all students thrive. This year's theme, "Let's Grow Together," recognizes the importance of personal and shared strengths in our growth as individuals and school communities all year. #pcssdproud #serveall

Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. - meaning you "gain" an hour of sleep. There are only two states that don't observe DST: Hawaii and Arizona (with the exception of Navajo Nation). #pcssdproud #serveall

It's the final week of the regular season! Good luck ROBINSON and SYLVAN HILLS HIGH on the road, while MAUMELLE and MILLS UNIVERSITY STUDIES HIGH aim to protect the home turf. Let's end the season on a high note! Livestream available: https://trst.in/gktbpl #pcssdproud #serveall

Oak Grove 5th graders took a week-long field trip to STARbase in Jacksonville last week. It was a busy week full of science, technology, engineering, and math! Here are some pictures that show some highlights. Special thanks to Mrs. Fuller, Ms. Drake, and Mrs. Moreno for making the trip with us!

Everyone loves a parade! Oak Grove celebrated the October AVID day with a college parade highlighting our research about Arkansas colleges. Every K-5 student made a sash with information they learned in small groups or as a class, and then cheered on each other as they lined the parade route. Way to go students and teachers!

Today is celebrated as the Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos). This is a widely recognized Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. #pcssdproud #serveall

Here is our attendance for the week of October 23-27. Technical difficulties on Friday afternoon and Monday morning are the reason for the delay. Attendance was up in every grade level and was close to the 95% mark overall, at 94%!

Reminder: there is no school tomorrow for students. Teachers have a professional development day. District offices will be open. School will resume on Thursday, November 2. #pcssdproud #serveall

Happy Halloween! Did you know: Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. What kind of costume will you be wearing tonight (to ward off ghosts, of course 👻)? #pcssdproud #serveall

This year our school theme is Level Up. At the beginning of the 2nd quarter, students and staff wore their favorite gaming t-shirts to remind us to Level Up this quarter! We have set goals for Lexia, IXL, Accelerated Reader, and each classroom has a behavior goal. Setting small goals and working hard to meet them will help us meet our school goals!
